The Core Curriculum, through a library of 13 comprehensive courses for the distributor sales force, provides a foundation of sales skills and industry knowledge to enhance competency in selling skills, account and territory management, basic issues related to medical sales and basic principles illustrating the value of distribution. Recommended in its entirety as the ideal preparation for the AMS Exam, the ADVANCE Core Curriculum offers a strong foundation in the terminology, technology, and techniques essential to the successful sales professional.
The Manufacturers Curriculum, through a library of 16 courses, is designed to enable a manufacturer sales force to learn to maximize effectiveness in working with distributors, understand what distributors offer, learn how to get past typical objections from both distributors and end customers, build superior selling skills through targeting customer needs, call planning and negotiation, understand legislative and regulatory issues affecting your industry, close more sales by achieving a "multiplier effect" through working with distributor salespeople and learn to strategically promote growth and profitability.
The Masters Curriculum, through a library of 15 courses for the distributor sales force with additional courses developed annually, expands on the foundations established through the Core Curriculum to provide in-depth industry information and advanced selling techniques specific to healthcare legislative and regulatory issues, medical products and procedures related to specific product classes or disease states, and advanced principles illustrating the value of distribution.
ADVANCE® CSR is an interactive, multimedia customer service training program delivered over the Internet, with audio, graphics, text, and interactive exercises integrated together to make it interesting and effective for customer service reps. The program is built in short modules, covering the role of CSRs in distribution, superior telephone skills, superior listening skills, turning around the angry customer, responding to common customer complaints (specific to healthcare distributors) and how CSRs can help increase business.
The AMS designation is the credential for professionals involved in selling medical products and shows your company and your customers that you’re committed to delivering advanced knowledge and top-level service to customers and supply chain partners while improving the bottom line. Attaining an AMS accreditation indicates that you’ve achieved a high level of professional competence, measured and validated by having met certain requirements. To stay current and effectively handle issues within your industry, it is essential that you continuously seek opportunities to increase your professional competence through education and training activities.
ADVANCE® DriveTime is an audio training program for the healthcare distribution sales professional that is FREE to HIDA members. Formatted like a talk radio program, the audio training provide valuable resources for reps that want to maximize their time spent on the road and includes sales education, tips, selling skills and customer insights.
The HIDA Educational Foundation sponsors an ongoing series of web seminars that give distributors and manufacturers a simple and convenient way to tap into education and training seminars on timely issues in medical products distribution and sales. The web seminars last approximately 60 minutes and can be viewed from any computer with access to the Internet. The audio portion is delivered by telephone. Topic areas include Legislative and Regulatory Issues, Selling Skills, Industry Research, and Market Intelligence.
